D8 EPPC Mini Grant

What is a Mini Grant?

The District 8 Indiana Emergency Preparedness and Planning Coalition (D8EPPC) Mini Grant Program provides financial assistance to coalition members to support local emergency preparedness, planning, response, and recovery efforts throughout Indiana Emergency Preparedness District 8. Mini grants are designed to enhance organizational and community readiness by funding deployable equipment, training, educational initiatives, and other preparedness activities that address identified needs and strengthen capabilities across the region. The program encourages collaboration among healthcare, public health, emergency management, EMS, fire, law enforcement, and other community partners, helping ensure District 8 agencies are better prepared to effectively respond to natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other incidents that may impact the communities they serve.

Who is Eligible?

Mini Grant funding is available to District 8 Emergency Preparedness and Planning Coalition (D8EPPC) members in good standing. Eligible applicants may include healthcare organizations, hospitals, long-term care and skilled nursing facilities, emergency medical services (EMS), fire departments, law enforcement agencies, local health departments, emergency management agencies, behavioral health organizations, and other public, private, nonprofit, or community-based organizations that support emergency preparedness and response within District 8.

Applicants must demonstrate that the proposed project will enhance emergency preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, or community resilience within District 8. Organizations must remain active members of D8EPPC and comply with applicable coalition requirements throughout the grant period. Preference may be given to projects that address identified regional preparedness gaps, benefit multiple agencies or disciplines, support vulnerable or underserved populations, or strengthen coordination and collaboration among District 8 partners.
